Welcome to EAA 2013

Dear Participants,

EAA 2013 conference will take place within Paris-Dauphine University premises. Founded in 1968, Paris-Dauphine University is a relatively new institution by French standards. From its inception, Dauphine has been specialized in the organization and decision sciences and is recognized as one of the premier European research centres with research programs focusing on understanding how complex human and organizational systems function. Over the past years, Dauphine’s academics have been active participants in French public and economic spheres and have been playing a leading part in promoting accounting research in France. Dauphine’s research centres are also vectors of knowledge sharing, contributing to teaching programs and maintaining collaborative ties with the corporate world.

Dauphine’s efforts in France and internationally, are all directed toward counting among the top ranking universities and institutions worldwide. Since 2009, Dauphine University belongs to the elite circle of EQUIS accredited university-level business schools worldwide. The most recent Shanghai (ARWU) ranking of world universities confirmed Dauphine as one of the top 500 academic institutions worldwide along side only 18 other French Universities and 5 French «Grandes Écoles».

Paris-Dauphine University is also a small and friendly campus in the heart of Paris. Its premises were designed by the architect Jacques Carlu (who also designed the Trocadéro) and have once hosted the military command of NATO (from 1955 to 1966, when France withdrew from this organization). They are located in the western area of Paris (the 16th arrondissement) near one of the most famous monuments in the world: the Eiffel Tower.

Coming to the 2013 EAA conference in Dauphine is to get a chance to discover the "city of lights", a city attracting many visitors all year long. With its incomparable historical sites and patrimony, Paris is often referred to as the most famous museum-city on the world. From Dauphine University, visitors can easily reach famous monuments: the Palais de Chaillot, Louvre and Orsay Museums or have a stroll on the Champs Elysées or the Champs de Mars. A little further, visitors can walk around Notre Dame's Cathedral, visit the Marais area, enjoy the atmosphere of Luxembourg gardens, visit Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur.

We are certain that, besides gaining from the highest quality academic conference, you will also be able to use your leisure time to your full satisfaction in a beautiful city.

Warmly welcome,
EAA 2013 Organizing Committee
